Industry is a strange one. Full of lovely people and some unpleasants. I don't take it very seriously at all...at the end of the day it's the entertainment industry and it should be fun to work in it. At the end of the day it's plugging cables into things, not rocket science. Welcome aboard Chris. Good to have someone else from the ent. industry here (albeit from a slightly more mainstream side). Yes, it's not rocket surgery, but sometimes it's a little more dangerous than plugging a few cables in - That's 2000kg of water ice above a suspended performer that I had to install at 5am last saturday and sunday. Early starts are par for the course in this industry, but occasionally there's a pay off like this -

Once the mobile app is back working I will have to post up some pictures of the area here...although I am not sure what can compare to that opera house.

Stunning shot there tris of the opera house. My bus travels the coathanger everyday (right now actually) and it doesn't ever look that amazing.

B here, new to this place and GTP (where I found this place) Been playing for around 6 weeks, though I bought GT5 when it was released. I just got the steering wheel so I started to play, I played GT games on the PS some years ago and knew I would want a wheel this go around. Currently I'm a level 35 in A-Spec, won't do B-Spec.
I have yet to try an online race. I still race with aids but have dabbled with none a few times with the exception of tire wear. Managed a 6:40 on the ring in the race modded ZR1, my best time with aids is 6:24 in the same car. I like the seasonals a lot and they have made the A-Spec races seem rather boring.
I'll get some photos of my rig up soon, just built a new one yesterday. Now it's in beta mode, but I'll be tightening things up this week.

Welcome aboard Saabaru, look forward to seeing you on track. Most CRAPPers use the AID's so don't worry too much about that, you'll fit in just fine.

Hey guys. Real is David from Malaysia. I'm a technical marketing engineer, which is to say I listen to complaints from customers and then more complaints from our engineers a lot...
I've played GT since GT1 but I'm really just an average racer as evident from my exploits in the CR1 room. I never really enjoyed GT5 online until CRAP!

Hi Fly. What you omit to mention is that you're using a newly acquired G27 in manual (H shift) mode :o. You can only get quicker once you've mastered it Glad you've got 'Progars Thing' bug. See you on track 8-)

Welcome! looking forward to getting you online. it took me a while too, but there's so many nice people here at C.R.A.P. that it became so much fun and now i rarely do anything but race online (other than test cars online getting ready to race ;D ) Not sure where you're from, but if you want to find some online races, Saturday always seems to be the best day. Noone cares if you want to use aids, the key is to have fun. see you on track!

Hi my name's HP and I'm new here, nice little forum ya got here ;D Welcome aboard Fly, Saab I trust everyone is looking after you! Other than the abused ego received I would say my first few races were met with very accommodating and patient crappers...I even managed to not finish dead last in one of them. btw, I'm stoutbee on the PSN...I don't know why I didn't use that here.

Hello, I am John, or Rexy as some of you have already dubbed me, I look forward to more great races with fellow CRAP members! I do work 50 hours per week and I am going back to school so time is tight but I'm working on homework and running my Bob so if anyone is up for a race give me a shout!

Lissa and myself opened public lounges titled 'Crap Recruitment' today. Limited them to only 8 people (to avoid constantly waiting for new entrants to get their car sorted) and had a great time meeting potential new members and lots of current ones too. Alan43Tod has now joined (welcome Alan), but keep an eye open for HairyStig, Nojman1, RedZed333, El Naraian and Kreaser all of whom have shown interest.
Thanks to all the members who joined us and help show what makes Crap such a good place to hang out 8-)

Hi, I'm Alan and just joined yesterday.
Thanks to Pete (roadstercouple) and Lissa, and the rest of guys in recruitment room who welcomed me straight away as I stumbled my way through my first online race. Really friendly bunch, and I enjoyed it loads, despite having very limited time this weekend online.
I'm 43 and live in rochdale with my wife, love formula 1, played on GT3 and GT4 in the past and recently got GT5. no steering wheel yet, but will have soon. looking forward to getting online and burning through some rubber!

cheers pete, there's some great ideas in that thread, my mind is already working overtime and I haven't even got my wheel yet! I like the idea of an actual old car seat being used. Seems to add to the authenticity of the whole experience somehow!

Hi Grumpytuna. I can see your name will be shorthanded to GT...very appropriate.
Welcome to the site 8-)
Alan, I hope you have an understanding family. You may be missing from their lives a lot if the bug really gets ya! :steering:

Thanks e10rice, you must be as over the moon like i am to see Spa Francorchamps included in GT5, what a classic track. I couldn't beleive it - the other day I had just finished watching the Belgium Grand Prix on TV, went on to GT5 unaware the track even existed in the game, entered an event and it took place on SPA - It was like a dream as I powered through Eau Rouge at over 160mph! Happy days!

Indeed i was, its my favorite track in F1 along with Monaco, which is also in the game. I actually like that they have nice selection of F1 tracks in the game. Spa, Monaco, Suzuka, Fuji, Monza, the old Indy layout.

hi guys im scott from runcorn. im 26 (27 in less than 2 weeks) and im a self employed window cleaner. when im not working im usually on gt5 doin seasonal events high cash low effort. i also play call of duty, but that gets boring theres only so many sniper shots to the head i can take before im frustraited an switch back to gt5, ive bin a car game nut since gp 90 on the master system, and probably played, owned or borrowed every car game since. ive played online with gt5 for ages but never found a club an always thought everyone was a dirty driver, till i came across roadsters lobby. i was impressed with how clean everyone was and was invited to join the forum. upon doing so ive signed up for the budgit series in division b aswell and looking forward to it. see you on track everyone

Welcome Scott - we all seem to hold odd hours here, plus having folks from all over the place helps keep the lounges occupied. Hope to see you out there. Shame they didn't include Silverstone, that would be epic! Silverstone is coming Cage: www.gtplanet.net/silverstone-circuit-coming-to-the-gran-turismo-series/ - maybe next year for GT Academy if we're lucky and definitely for GT6 of course
